On March 11, 2011 at 14:46(JST), the largest earthquake hits North East Japan, and the “Tsunami” engulfed everything besides the Pacific Ocean in Aomori, Iwate, Miyagi, Fukushima, and Ibaraki prefecture.

We, Carjunction Co. offers heartfelt condolences to all those members stricken by the earthquake, and wish them for a prompt recovery.

Also, we thank for the heartfelt messages from overseas users for those who suffered.
At this moment, Car Junction Co. Ltd continues to function normally, and luckily all the Staff is safe along with the vehicles inventory.

Summary

The north coast of Japan was hit by a horrible tsunami after a 9.0 magnitude earthquake that occurred 80 miles offshore. This fund will support organizations providing relief and aid to victims.

What is the issue, problem, or challenge?

Tsunami waves caused major destruction in northern Japan. Current estimates are over 10,000 people have died. We are working with International Medical Corps, Save the Children, and other organizations on the ground to provide support. Our partners on the ground are working hard to provide immediate relief. We will post more details of the specific use of funds as soon as possible. All donors will get email updates on how their funds have been used.

 How will this project solve this problem?

This project will disburse funds to organizations providing relief and emergency services to victims of the earthquake and tsunami. Global Giving is working with International Medical Corps, Save the Children, and other organizations on the ground

                                  

The latest reports coming out of Japan have shown cars, ships and buildings being swept away with waves of up to 10 meters high slamming into the coast. Areas across the Pacific Basin have been put on tsunami alert including Russia, Guam, the Philippines, Taiwan and Hawaii.

‘The scenes we’re seeing are catastrophic. Whole homes are being washed away and our thoughts go out to all the families who are facing this disaster. The epicenter was in Japan so our first teams are mobilizing to head there but we continue to watch very closely the path of the tsunami. We’re very aware the worst may not be over.’
