LHD or Left Hand Drive vehicles are more popular in West African region; as most of the Asian countries usually have Right Hand Drive vehicles system, but it is perfectly legal and safe to drive them anywhere other than in few countries who apply restriction or certain conditions on LHDs.
If we consider historical background of LHDs, it was a matter of safety and self defense. People used to ride their horses left keeping their right hand free to hold swords to fight. All those 'sword wars' are over now, but LHD is still voyage. In many regions of world people still prefer to drive their conventional and luxury drives, left.
In modern era of driving, automotive companies are also manufacturing LHDs, automotive manufacturers like Toyota, Nissan, and Mitsubishi are famous Japanese brands which manufacture LHDs. On other hand US and European brands especially Ford, Land Rover, Mercedes Benz, Audi, BMW and Dodge etc. are known for manufacturing LHDs along with RHDs.
Car Junction is a leading exporter of both left hand and right hand drive vehicles to almost all African and Caribbean countries in addition to some Asian and European countries. Left Hand vehicles are exclusively exported to West African region, especially Ghana, Nigeria, Liberia, Cote D Ivory, Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso, Benin, Angola, Cameroon, Djibouti, In Asia left hand cars are used in Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and Philippines.
In West Africa people prefer Japanese cars. Toyota and Nissan are the most popular brands. Toyota Rav 4, Toyota Highlander, 4Ruuner, Tundra, Land Cruiser and PRADO are the most popular Toyota Models. Patrol, Pathfinder, Armada, Juke are popular models in Nissan. Expedition, Edge, Explorer, Fusion, Transit are popular in Ford.
