Daihatsu Hijet is a kind of a small Kei Truck designed and presented in November 1960 for an easy cargo delivery and towing purposes. This is a reliable and durable pickup truck also known by some other names like Daihatsu Atrai, Daihatsu Gran Max, Daihatsu Extol, Subaru Dias, Toyota Pixis, and Daihatsu Zebra.
The second generation model was launched as a Daihatsu cab over style truck in 1964. It had a competition with Volkswagen type 2, Dodge A100, Chevrolet Greenbrier, and the Ford Econoline.
The third generation was popularly known as S37. It offered an all-electric truck and van with little more refinements and improvements such as the boxy design and front door hinges.
