It is a robust and sturdy solid truck carries 18 tons of cargo weight and equipped with straight 6 cylinder diesel engine with a turbocharger and intercooler. It is also fitted with 2 types of engines named as OM 501 LA-541 and the OM 502 LA-542. The OM 501 consists of 12-liters V6 fuel engine with 310 to 480 horsepower capacity.

 

The 2nd Generation Actros Model was launched with an electronic sequential gearbox which Mercedes-Benz named as a Telligent Gearbox. It utilizes a computer together with a load sensing system on the 5th Wheel coupling to assess the proper gear to increase and decrease acceleration and revolutions per mile.

 

The Actros has been built with a silent and spacious cabin design equipped with all modern and innovative features like radio, CD player, Bluetooth, sunroof, air conditioner, power steering, power windows, anti-lock braking system, dual airbags, and auxiliary heater. The latest model has been presented in July 2011 known as the New Actros consisting of 6 cylinder inline common rail technology engine. It offers the cargo payload capacity of 18 to 44 tons for a long-distance transportation. The heavy-duty cargo can carry up to 250 tons of load.
