Diesel is the commonly used term for the purified and refined fuel for all kinds of heavy and light duty motor vehicles. It was invented by Rudolf Diesel in 1892 who was a mechanical engineer by profession.
He initially designed his first diesel powered engine as a result of experimentation of coal dust to use as a fuel. Diesel fuel can be extracted from multiple sources such as biomass, bio gas, animal fat and coal conversions.

They are also environmental friendly due to less carbon emissions with clean diesel technology.
